Sending an email? Use the subject line to tell the reader what the email is about, or what you want and when. For example, Budget deadline: noon, February 10 is more informative than Need your budget input, and certainly more informative than catching up. If you are making a new contact, consider using the name of the person who referred you, such as: Peter Rodriquez suggested I contact you (assuming it is OK with Peter).
In a long email string that no longer relates to the initial topic, take time to change the subject line to match the current discussion; better yet, start a new email to make searching/filing easier for your audience.
Putting in a plug today for Grammarly.com; in my view, it’s a little better than spell check. https://www.grammarly.com/ (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.
